Longtime friend Greg Ellis on Johnny Depp’s state of mind
Johnny Depp’s fellow “Pirates of the Caribbean” co-star Greg Ellis shared in an interview how his longtime friend is getting on after a month after a jury awarded Depp over $10 million in damages in the defamation lawsuit he filed against ex-wife Amber Heard.
“I think he’s just happy to get his life back” Ellis said. “And hopefully for this to be, you know, talked about less.”
His view on why Depp won his case against Heard, “The fact that he was able to speak for the first time, and I think we saw from the trial as well, his humanity and the spirit and gentle nature of the man,” the “Days of Our Lives” actor said.
“He was consistent and only took responsibility for his faults and the mistakes that he made. He’s never said he’s perfect,” he added.
Ellis believes Depp will focus his energy going forward on new film projects and his music as he currently is playing on tour with Jeff Beck and a scheduled tour with Vampires of Hollywood next year.
